When Your Light Rubs the Wrong Way - By Masha Gimelfarb, Holistic Life & Mental Health Coach

Have you ever felt like just being yourself causes a ripple in the room?

Like people sense something different about you — something they can’t quite name — and they’re unsure whether to admire it, question it, or push it away?

If you’re nodding, I want you to know:

You’re not alone.

And there’s nothing wrong with you.

In fact — there’s something very right with you.

You Don’t Just Shine. You Disrupt.

There’s a quiet kind of power in authenticity.

Not the performative kind — not the curated, filtered version — but the real, grounded kind. The kind where you know who you are, and you’re not afraid to be that, even when it makes people uncomfortable.

I’ve lived most of my life with people telling me my life looks ideal. That I must be “so lucky.” That I have some sort of magic they wish they could replicate.

And for a long time, I wrestled with the feeling that they didn’t really see me — just a projection of what they assumed was behind my light.

Some admired it.

Some tried to copy it.

Some wanted to take the things they thought were the “source” of it — including people I loved.

And many were confused by it.

But what they didn’t see — or didn’t understand — was that the light wasn’t coming from what I had.

It was coming from who I chose to be.

It’s Not About Luck. It’s About Alignment.

What people often perceive as “ease” or “freedom” is the result of hard, often invisible inner work.

It’s years of pain, self-reflection, healing, surrender, resilience, and recommitment to truth.

Alignment isn’t something you fall into by accident.

It’s something you choose — sometimes over and over again.

You choose it when you decide not to shrink just to be accepted.

You choose it when you honour your boundaries even when they disappoint others.

You choose it when you live your truth in a world that benefits from you staying quiet, small, or agreeable.

Your Light Isn’t the Problem. People’s Projections Are.

When people are unsure of their own power, your freedom can feel threatening.

When people are still playing roles, your realness can feel confusing.

When people are carrying wounds, your wholeness can feel like a mirror they didn’t ask to look into.

That doesn’t mean you need to hide.

It means you need to stand even more grounded in your truth — but with softness. With boundaries. With deep self-celebration.

So What Do You Do When It Feels Heavy?

You protect your energy, without building walls.

You remind yourself that their confusion isn’t your fault.

You find others who speak your language — who see you.

And maybe… you get support to help you hold it all with grace.

This Is Why I Coach.

Because I know what it’s like to be misunderstood.

To feel like you’re almost there — but still carrying the weight of not being fully seen.

To shine with a heart full of love and still be doubted.

My coaching isn’t about helping you “fix” yourself.

It’s about helping you reclaim, protect, and align with the version of you that already exists beneath the noise.

The radiant, intuitive, wise, wild, powerful version.

You don’t need to become someone else. You need to come home to you.

If this resonates — I invite you to explore working together.
